Puppet Playshop 1: for younger puppeteers (ages 5 through 8).  Children will build and take home shadow puppets (or other age-appropriate style) and will be instructed in their basic movement and voice characterization.  A "what is a puppet" mini-performance by the artist is included. Allow an hour. Needed: tables and chairs for each participant (table coverings if available i.e. butcher paper, newspaper, plastic tablecloths--artist can provide if requested); cleared area and small table for performance. 20 per session ideal, extra materials fee may be charged for participants above that number.  High energy, fun, hands-on and engaging! 

Puppet Playshop 2: for older puppeteers (ages 9 through 12).  Children will build and take home a rod puppet (or other age-appropriate style) and will be instructed in its basic movement and voice characterization. A "what is a puppet" mini-performance by the artist is included. Allow an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Needed: tables and chairs for each participant; cleared area and small table for performance. 20 per session ideal, extra materials fee may be charged for participants above that number.  High energy, fun, hands-on and engaging!  Can be adapted to any theme/topic AS WELL AS FOR OLDER CHILDREN. 

The Art of the Puppet Playshop: a fun-filled, hands-on look at puppets around the world, including a mini-performance by the artist! Ties into history, social studies, reading, language arts, math, etc. Artist will bring a collection of international puppets as well as collection of puppetry books. The question "what is a puppet" will be asked/answered, and the basics of puppet performance will be introduced. Allow 45 minutes to an hour.  No real "set up" required: artist will adapt to provided space. Ideal session size 35 to 40.  Take-home puppet for students included.

Puppetry 101 Playshop: a workshop teaching the basics of puppetry to kids of all ages! An intro to puppetry will begin the session, and then participants will take a "hands on" approach to the basics of puppetry and puppet manipulation. Theatre games for puppetry can and may be included. Allow 45 minutes to an hour.  No real "set up" required: artist will adapt to provided space. Ideal session size 35 to 40, no more.  Take-home puppet for students include

DramaWorks Playshop: a drama workshop (including theatre games for puppetry and performance by artist) for any age and size audience, covering theatre basics (such as teamwork, storytelling, communication, terms, movement, etc.) and/or more advanced topics (improvisation, character building, etc.).  Great for teachers and librarians as well!  No real set-up required--ideal class size 20 to 25 to facilitate learning and teaching!

Mask and Movement Playshop: a workshop for any age and size audience covering theatre movement basics (such as relaxation, warming up, connecting with the space and the other players in it, etc.) and/or more advanced topics (such as neutral mask and specific movement styles).  Great for teachers and librarians as well!  No real set-up required--ideal class size 20 to 25 to facilitate learning and teaching!

Music Games Playshop:  a music games workshop for any age and size audience, covering music basics (such as volume, tempo, working as a chorus, etc.). Hands-on, engaging, fast-paced fun!  No real set-up required--ideal class size 20 to 25 to facilitate learning and teaching!


Workshops can be adapted for teachers, librarians, high school thespians and actors of all experience levels!
